Sleep Mastery: Optimise Rest for Energy, Focus and Resilience

Synopsis:

Poor sleep doesn't stay at home. It shows up as slower thinking, more mistakes, shorter tempers, and staff who are physically present but mentally checked out. This session covers what's actually happening in the brain when sleep is short, the safety risks most workplaces underestimate, and practical habits that make a difference from the first night.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain why sleep matters and what the brain does during it
  • Recognise how sleep debt affects concentration, memory, decision-making and mood
  • Identify fatigue as a workplace safety risk, including micro-sleeps at work and on the commute
  • Apply practical sleep hygiene habits to fall asleep faster and stay asleep
  • Assess which sleep aids and tools are worth using, and which aren't

  • The real risks of fatigue, including micro-sleeps at work and on the drive home
  • Simple habits that make falling and staying asleep easier
  • How to beat the afternoon slump
